- Electricity cost is based on an average of cost per kWh for Time of Use metering as stipulated by local municipalities;
- A price fluctuation of 10% increase per year on electricity cost has been used in the calculations;
- Seasonal increases are not considered;
- Savings assume optimised demand on power generated by the solar; panels which ensures that most electricity generated is used;
- 10% degradation or losses incurred have been assumed due to variabilities in panel placement, cable length, etc;
- Calculations are based on expected yield in Gauteng and could fluctuate depending on region;
- Savings do not factor in any benefits of pushing power back into the grid;
- Section 12B allowance has not been factored into the benefits;
